📍 Location: Dunston, Gateshead
📑 Contract: Permanent
💷 Salary: £29,000
🗓 Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

The Role
Reporting directly to the Plant & Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of plant/equipment hires and assisting in transport planning. This is a varied role where attention to detail, problem-solving, and excellent organisational skills are key.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the booking, delivery, and collection of plant/equipment for internal and external projects.
- Carry out stock checks, maintain accurate records, and ensure all certification is up to date.
- Issue and manage purchase orders, hire paperwork, damage reports, and service documentation.
- Support transport planning, monitor KPIs, and update fleet records.
- Liaise with site teams, suppliers, and management to resolve queries and ensure service levels are met.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying efficiencies and supporting business processes.
About You
We're looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Essential skills:
- Previous administration experience (ideally within plant, transport, construction, or logistics).
- Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases).
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise under pressure.
Desirable (not essential):
- Knowledge of plant/equipment hire, crane operations, or construction.
- Experience in stock control or cost/budget monitoring.
