TERMS OF USE

These Terms of Use set out the rules for using the Adecco Agent, an AI chatbot provided by Adecco UK and Ireland. When we refer to “Adecco”, “we”, “us”, or “the Company”, we mean Adecco UK and Ireland, which includes the following entities:

  • Adecco UK Limited
  • Adecco Ireland Limited
  • Office Angels Limited

Our registered office is located at 10 Bishops Square, London E1 6EG. Adecco UK and Ireland is part of the Adecco Group AG (“Adecco Group”), headquartered at Bellerivestrasse 30, 8008 Zürich, Switzerland.

The Adecco Agent is designed to support your job application process by helping you answer screening questions, ask questions about the role, and engage in a smooth, conversational experience powered by Generative AI.

1. Accepting these Terms of Use

By using the Adecco Agent ("you"), you confirm that you accept the Terms of Use in force at the time of your interaction with the Adecco Agent and agree to comply with such Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms of Use, you must not use the Adecco Agent. We recommend that you print or download a copy of these terms for future reference.

2. Access to the Adecco Agent

Access to the Adecco Agent is permitted on a temporary basis, and we reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Content we provide through the Adecco Agent without notice to reflect changes to our services, our users' needs, and our business priorities. From time to time, we may restrict access to some parts of the Adecco Agent, or the entire service.

3. Use of the Adecco Agent

Using the Chatbot: You interact with the AI Agent by answering questions or prompts (inputs). The Agent then responds with answers (outputs). Additionally, the AI Agent may proactively ask you questions about your professional experience related to the job you have applied for.

Ending the Conversation: You can end the conversation at any time by simply not responding to the Chatbot or by closing the application.

What Happens Next: Ideally, once the conversation is complete, the AI Agent shares the interaction with a recruiter, who then reviews the information to assess your suitability for the role.

  • AI Considerations:
    • Interaction with AI: Adecco Agent uses Generative AI to provide responses based on the data and algorithms it has been trained on. The responses generated by the Adecco Agent are automated and may not always be accurate, complete, or up-to-date. You should use your judgment and seek professional advice where necessary.
    • Data Input: You are responsible for ensuring that the information you enter into the Adecco Agent is accurate and lawful. The AI tool generates responses based on the data you provide, so any incorrect or inappropriate input could impact the quality or relevance of its answers. Please also be aware that, while the Adecco Agent aims to provide helpful responses, we cannot guarantee that all of its outputs will be accurate. In some cases, the AI may present information confidently, even if it’s not entirely correct. This phenomenon is known as a “hallucination” in Generative AI.
    • Monitoring and Improvement: We may monitor interactions with the Adecco Agent to improve the service and ensure compliance with these Terms of Use.

4. Content

While we aim to provide helpful and relevant information through the Adecco Agent, please note that we are not responsible for verifying the accuracy of the responses it generates. The information provided by the Adecco Agent is based on available data and algorithms, which may not always be fully accurate, complete, or up to date. As such, we cannot guarantee that all content will be precise or perfectly suited to your needs.

We kindly remind you that we are not liable for any errors or omissions in the content or performance of the Adecco Agent, except where required by law. For example, in cases of fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or where our negligence results in death or personal injury.

5. No business relationship or investment offer

The Adecco Agent is not intended to establish a business relationship of any kind between you and us. The information provided by the Adecco Agent does not constitute an offer of or solicitation for the purchase or disposal of, trading, or any transaction in any Adecco securities. You should not rely on this information to make investment decisions.

6. Intellectual property rights

All Content provided by the Adecco Agent is either owned by us or is licensed for use by us. Everything you see or read through the Adecco Agent (such as images, photographs, illustrations, texts, video clips, and other materials) is protected worldwide by copyright, design, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You must always respect all intellectual property rights in the Content, whether owned by us, any of the Adecco Group Companies, or a third party.

7. Links from our Adecco Agent and linking to our Adecco Agent

Where the Adecco Agent contains links to other websites and resources provided by third parties, these links and resources are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them. We have no control over the content of those sites or resources. We recommend that you read the terms of use of third-party websites and check them regularly. You are solely responsible for deciding whether to access third-party websites. Following any link to any third-party site is at your own risk.

9. No warranties, limitation of liability

The Content provided by the Adecco Agent is for general information only. The Adecco Agent and the Content are not intended to provide you with advice on which you should rely. You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the Content. Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information provided by the Adecco Agent, we make no representations, warranties, or guarantees that the Adecco Agent and/or the Content is accurate, complete, error-free, or up to date or that use of the Adecco Agent and/or the Content will not infringe rights of third parties.

10. Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

The Adecco Agent is provided to you without charge. As a result, use of the Adecco Agent is at your own risk, but we do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. Where we are permitted to exclude liability by applicable law, we will not be liable for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with the use of the Adecco Agent or the Content. In particular, we will not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses such as the loss of use, interruption of business, lost profits, or lost data.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms of Use and all issues regarding the Adecco Agent and its Content are governed by the laws of England and Wales and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that (i) we retain the right to bring proceedings against you for breach of these Terms of Use before a court of competent jurisdiction in your country of residence or a court of competent jurisdiction in any other country; and (ii) you can bring proceedings against us for breach of these Terms of Use in the courts of the jurisdiction where you usually live.

12. Amendments to these Terms of Use

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If you are a user of the Adecco Agent, please check these Terms of Use to ensure that you understand the Terms of Use that apply at that time. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the Adecco Agent. If you are a registered user of our services and have agreed to these Terms of Use, we will provide a notice to you, using one of the typical methods we communicate with you.

13. Ethical Use and Bias

We are committed to ensuring the ethical use of the Adecco Agent. While we strive to minimise biases in our AI tool, users should be aware that AI systems can have inherent biases. We are dedicated to continuously improving our AI to ensure fair and ethical interactions.

14. Transparency and Explainability

We believe in transparency and explainability. The Adecco Agent operates based on algorithms and data to generate responses. We aim to provide clear information on how the AI tool works, the data it uses, and how decisions or responses are generated to build trust with our users.

We ensure that there is human oversight in the operation of the AI tool. Users have the option to escalate issues to a human representative if they are not satisfied with the AI-generated responses. This ensures that users can receive appropriate support and resolution.

18. Accountability and Compliance

We commit to complying with all applicable UK laws and regulations, including the EU AI Act. We have designated a compliance officer responsible for ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and addressing any compliance issues that may arise.
