About the Role
As Junior Buyer, you'll be part of a small, friendly team and report directly to the Buying Manager. You'll play a key role in managing product categories, analysing data, supporting the sourcing strategy, and helping to ensure smooth stock flow.
This is a varied role, perfect for someone who is commercially minded, confident in communication, and ready to take ownership of their development.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage existing product categories in line with customer demand
Review performance data to identify trends and opportunities
Plan and forecast stock levels and manage supply accordingly
Build and maintain supplier relationships; negotiate pricing and terms
Source new suppliers and explore alternative supply routes
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely product launches and deliveries
Analyse sales data and share insights to maximise category performance
Monitor commodity prices and identify cost-saving opportunities
Occasionally attend supplier visits, trade shows, and store visits
About You:
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally bring:
Previous experience in a buying or procurement environment
Excellent Excel and analytical skills
Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
Confident communicator with good negotiation skills
Ability to work both independently and within a team
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
A proactive, "can-do" attitude and willingness to learn
Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
