Hours: Monday to Thursday, 12:20pm - 8:00pm | Friday, 12:20pm - 6:00pm (36-hour working week)
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 DOE + Quarterly Bonus + Profit Share + Outstanding Benefits

We're partnering with a highly respected global manufacturing and technology business to recruit an Account Manager to join their established commercial team. This isn't a cold-calling sales role. Instead, you'll inherit and grow an established portfolio of customers, becoming their trusted point of contact while helping them maximise value across a broad range of products and services.

The Opportunity
You'll take ownership of an established portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring they receive outstanding service while identifying opportunities to develop and grow existing business. This is a relationship-led role where you'll become a trusted advisor to your customers, creating account growth plans, managing opportunities through CRM and working collaboratively with technical, operations and commercial teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
Alongside managing existing accounts, you'll proactively identify and qualify new business opportunities within your territory, supporting wider business development activity and helping to expand the customer base within key market sectors. You'll manage the full sales cycle from initial enquiry through to quotation, negotiation and successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing customer accounts, building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, delivering an exceptional customer experience.
- Identify and maximise opportunities to grow existing accounts through cross-selling, upselling and introducing new products and services.
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities to support continued sales growth.
- Develop and implement account plans to increase customer retention and long-term account value.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from lead generation and enquiry through to quotation, negotiation and successful completion.
- Prepare quotations, commercial proposals and support tender submissions where required.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts and pipeline updates.
- Provide customers with product guidance and technical information, working closely with specialist colleagues where required.
- Build productive relationships with distributors and collaborate closely with technical, operations and customer support teams.
- Monitor account performance, analyse customer trends and share insights to drive continuous improvement.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience in an Account Manager, Customer Success, Client Relationship, Internal Sales or Business Development role.
- A proven track record of managing and developing existing customer accounts while identifying opportunities for growth.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system from enquiry through to order completion.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with confidence communicating via telephone, video calls and email.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems (Dynamics CRM experience would be advantageous).
