Head of Marketing (Full-Stack) - Alternative Investments & Retail

Up to £80,000 depending on experience | City of London | Hybrid

Summary

Our client is an established luxury asset ownership, retail and e-commerce business specialising in fine wine, rare whisky and premium spirits. Operating across alternative investments and luxury retail, they offer clients access to rare assets alongside a curated range of premium products.

They are looking for a commercially driven Head of Marketing to lead their marketing function, with a core focus on growing the cask whisky ownership division through effective lead generation, customer acquisition and performance marketing.

The Role

This is a hands-on leadership position combining marketing strategy, team management and campaign execution. You will drive commercial growth while developing a scalable marketing function.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the marketing strategy, setting KPIs and managing the budget to maximise ROI.

  • Leading and optimising paid media campaigns across Meta, Google Ads and paid social, working with agency partners while remaining hands-on.

  • Improving lead-generation funnels, landing pages, CRM workflows and customer nurture journeys to increase conversion and lead quality.

  • Analysing campaign performance, including CPL, ROAS and conversion rates, using tools such as GA4, Meta Ads Manager and HubSpot.

  • Leading the internal marketing team and managing external agencies across paid media, content, PR and social.

  • Working closely with Sales, Retail, eCommerce and senior leadership to align marketing activity with commercial objectives and brand positioning.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have at least five years' experience in a Senior Marketing Manager or Head of Marketing role, with a strong track record in performance marketing and lead generation.

You will be:

  • Experienced in hands-on paid media management, ideally with demonstrable success using Meta Ads.

  • Commercially focused, with experience improving CPL, ROAS, conversion rates and lead quality.

  • An effective people leader with experience managing internal teams and external agencies.

  • Confident managing CRM, segmentation and lead nurturing, ideally using HubSpot.

  • Analytical, proactive and highly organised, with the ability to turn data into commercial results.

  • Experienced in B2C marketing, ideally within luxury, premium consumer, drinks, retail or investment sectors, or a fast-growth SME.

Experience marketing high-value products or targeting high-net-worth individuals would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the marketing function of an ambitious luxury business, with exposure to alternative investments and high-net-worth clients. You will have the scope to influence strategy, develop the team and make a measurable impact on commercial growth.

Benefits include a company pension, 29 days holiday, eligibility for a Cask Loyalty Programme with gifted casks at three, five and ten years, and a staff discount at the company's luxury retail experience.

Hours: 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with one day working remotely each week.

If you are a commercially minded marketing leader who combines strategic thinking with hands-on performance marketing expertise, we would love to hear from you.
