Our client is a growing and ambitious UK distributor looking to appoint a Purchasing & Supply Planning Coordinator to play a pivotal role within their operations team.
This is a hands-on position focused on managing day-to-day purchasing activities, stock replenishment, and supplier coordination, ensuring products are available when customers need them while maintaining healthy stock levels and controlling costs. Working closely with sales, suppliers and warehouse teams, you will become the go-to person for stock availability, lead times and delivery updates.

Location: Rural Canterbury, Kent (Office Based), your own transport is essential
Salary: £32,000 - £36,000
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Start Date: January 2027

As Purchasing & Supply Planning Coordinator, you will be responsible for:
- Managing daily purchasing and stock replenishment activities
- Reviewing and approving replenishment proposals and order recommendations
- Raising, confirming, and monitoring purchase orders with UK and international suppliers
- Maintaining accurate supplier lead times and ETA information
- Chasing overdue deliveries and resolving supply issues
- Acting as the primary point of contact for stock, availability, and delivery queries from internal teams
- Sourcing and ordering non-stock and customer-specific items
- Coordinating product availability for larger project and installation requirements
- Supporting new product sourcing and supplier research
- Producing regular stock, purchasing, and performance reports
- Managing and supporting an offshore Purchasing & Supply Chain Administrator
- Working closely with stakeholders to improve stock availability and customer service levels
Essential skills & experience required for this role:
- Purchasing, Supply Planning, Procurement or Supply Chain
- Experience within a distribution, wholesale, logistics or product-based environment
- Practical experience using ERP, MRP or forecasting systems
- Experience managing supplier relationships and purchase orders
- Knowledge of importing products and working with overseas suppliers
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to deal with internal stakeholders and suppliers
- A detail-oriented approach and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience within healthcare, medical, technical or regulated product environments would be an advantage
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a junior team member
- CIPS qualification or currently studying towards one
- Familiarity with inventory forecasting and demand planning systems
