We are recruiting for a Receptionist to join a well-known Plymouth law firm for a 6 month fixed term contract with a January start, which could well be extended past the 6 months!

JOB TITLE: Virtual Receptionist

LOCATION: Plymouth

HOURS: 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday

SALARY: £17, 910 per annum

DURATION: 6 month fixed term contract (could be extended!)

THE ROLE: You will be responsible for providing a quality and efficient telephone service, answering all enquiries into the practice in a prompt and professional manner and upholding the firms excellent client experience. You will also respond to web enquiries and support with ad hoc admin duties.


  • Transferring calls as appropriate

  • Answering general enquiries promptly and effectively

  • As the first point of contact for clients and members of the public you will represent the firm, ensuring you uphold a professional, courteous, efficient and helpful manner at all times

  • You will work to provide a value added service; developing, maintaining and applying a good knowledge of the products and services that the firm offers in order to provide advice and information where appropriate

  • Respond to enquiries submitted via the online enquiry form or reallocate as appropriate

  • Support other areas of the business with ad hoc administrative tasks


  • You must demonstrate a professional and friendly disposition

  • The ability to uphold an excellent client service

  • The ability to communicate in an effective and business-like manner with all levels of clients, staff and stakeholders

  • Excellent listening skills

  • Experience of working in a client or customer facing role

  • The ability to think on your feet and work with minimum supervision

  • Good computer skills

  • The ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Someone who is friendly, approachable and positive
