Office Angels are delighted to be partnering with an incredible organisation who are actively recruiting for a Qualitative Research Scientist/Psychologist (Maternity Cover - Up to 12mths)


Overview
This role is to support a global organisation who have been at the forefront of scientific research to understand and mitigate a wide range of occupational and environmental health risks. Their aim is to improve people's safety and wellbeing in all aspects of their life.


The Role
This role covers maternity leave and is a great opportunity to work across, and support, the variety of specialist areas & projects within their research team. The role will contribute to the delivery of social science/psychology projects, particularly in relation to qualitative research. Many of our projects require social science/psychology expertise which affords a unique opportunity to gain insight and expertise across a wide range of scientific disciplines.


The role will support research project delivery which enables the business to explore and lead consultancy science into practice. Key activities include, but are not limited to:



  • Manage and conduct qualitative consultation in the form of interviews, focus groups and workshops

  • Write and submit ethics applications

  • Development, coordination and analysis of surveys

  • Recruitment strategy development and implement the strategy

  • Develop, carry out and manage stakeholder engagement activities

  • Develop research tools / data collection measurements such as interview schedules, consultation topic guides and surveys etc

  • Manage interview process

  • Organise transcriptions

  • Conduct qualitative data analysis such as thematic analysis etc

  • Contribute to written reports, project deliverables and dissemination of findings across stakeholder groups

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to conduct desk top reviews (rapid evidence reviews, literature reviews, systematic reviews

  • Support the delivery of project on budget and to the timescale agreed with client

  • Support project teams including writing aspects of reports, or providing data insight & commentary for inclusion in project reports

  • Present and communicate findings internally and/or externally as required

  • Actively participate in research team & other collaborative team meetings


Your Skills
As an experienced research scientist, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:



  • Qualification preferably MSc or higher, in a social science discipline, with at least 4 years' experience in a similar role (we would consider a BSc with extensive experience in a similar role)

  • Knowledge and demonstrable competence in qualitative research methods/approaches. See key activities listed above.

  • Strong communication, planning and organisational skills

  • Strong time management with ability to prioritise and deal with workload efficiently

  • Excellent influencing and customer relationship management skills

  • Highly motivated

  • Team player, easily gaining trust and support of colleagues

  • Works well under pressure

  • Proposal development experience would be desirable

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required



Candidates who have applied experience of social science/qualitative methods in a research or consulting role, or familiarity with other social research software such as NVIVO analysis software and/or DistillerSR, would be at an advantage however not essential.
