Temporary Medical Secretary/Receptionist

Our client is a large medical practice with several nursing homes attached to their practice. Based in the Springburn area (North Glasgow) the practice is easily accessed by car and parking is available. Due to an influx of care our client is seeking a self-motivated and accomplished medical receptionist to provide front-of-house and secretarial support to help them through this busy period.

As this is a temporary role you must be available to start immediately and have no commitments or holidays over the coming weeks.

The ideal candidate will have a welcoming and professional approach coupled with excellent switchboard and communication skills. In addition, you will be required to provide an efficient secretarial support to the doctors and practice managers.

It is therefore essential for candidates to possess experience in Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.

Key Duties: -

  • Provide front-of house services including answering all main switchboard calls, liaising with visitors to the practice and distributing post and deliveries

  • Processing repeat prescription requests

  • Scanning clinical correspondence

  • Typing of referral/general letters.

  • Produce, documents, reports to agreed deadlines and standards, including audio and copy typing and document binding

  • Create and manage patient files.

  • Maintain effective systems for electronic and paper filing and information retrieval.

The Ideal Candidate: -

  • Previous medical receptionist/secretary experience

  • Proficient in Sci-gateway, EMIS & Docman software systems

  • Confident typist and comfortable using the MS Office suite

  • Works well under pressure and can multi-task efficiently

  • Should possess Front of House reception skills

  • Have excellent Audio and copy typing skills

The hours of work are 8.00 am to 17.00 pm - Monday to Wednesday and 9.30am - 6.30pm on a Friday.
