Team Leader - Financial or Regulatory experience required

JOB TITLE: Team Leader with Financial or Regulatory experience

LOCATION: Brighton

HOURS: 37.5 Hours

SHIFTS: 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday (30 minutes lunch)

SALARY: £44,969


  • Manage relationships with key entities and interact with schemes and third parties in the most complex, strategically important, novel or emerging situations

  • To achieve improvements in regulatory behaviour and a reduction in identified risks in the regulated entities, or to escalate appropriately

  • engage internally with subject matter experts, policy and professional advisers to support your analysis and recommendations

  • build strong relationships with key business areas internally and externally, and represent the organisation in forums, events and meetings

  • contribute to the development and implement policy, continuous improvement, guidance and training materials

  • Apply your technical knowledge and experience to ensure you manage and deliver all communications, escalations and other interventions to the highest quality

  • Escalate material issues as appropriate, including proposing appropriate, outcome-focused solutions, where appropriate improvements are not achieved, working effectively with Enforcement to transfer responsibility for formal use of powers.


  • Proven track record of building effective relationships to achieve outcomes in complex or contentious situations

  • Experience of working in a financial/banking/regulatory/legal/ pensions environment

  • Knowledge of the commercial landscape and of the pension market and knowledge of the underlying financial arrangements common in the market

  • Evidence of communicating and reporting findings to senior stakeholders and giving clear and robust recommendations for further action

  • Experience of pensions regulation and the pensions industry to such a level as to be able quickly assess information and risk, be a subject matter expert for others, confidently and assuredly deal with trustees, pensions managers and other stakeholders at board level.

  • Must be able to strongly challenge/interrogate information provided, complete tools required and determine an action plan. Negotiate implementing these actions with trustees, employers and others, as well as follow through on their execution
