Assessment Officer

Salary: up to £24,00 depending on experience

Location: Birmingham B18

Fixed term 35hr per week (12 months)

Proposed start date: As soon as possible

As part of the Assessments team you will provide an excellent standard of customer service and assist with the smooth operations of the department ensuring effective and high quality administration is provided to students and staff across campus.

What will this role involve?

  • Provide assessments information to all students, and staff in a friendly, informative and timely manner via telephone, email and face to face contact.

  • Working within the framework of the policies and procedures set by the University administer the student life cycle from start to end of their studies tasks include:

  • To understand the assessment requirements and regulations and be able to advise accordingly. Liaising where necessary with the programme leads.

  • To work closely with the Senior Assessment officer to ensure the smooth running of examinations and assist in all aspects of their role - this includes administration of all pre and post assessments processes for all assessments/examinations including:

  • Marking Process to implement the administration and marking process for all examinations and assessments. Liaising with appropriate academic staff and external examiners.

  • To organise the allocation of exams and ensure students receive the relevant exam materials; ensure exams are conducted in line with procedure.

  • To calculate and publish accurate conditional/provisional results including awarding certificates/notices relating to further attempts, resits and implications of results, liaising when necessary with appropriate academic staff and programme leads.

  • Maintain an efficient and accurate filing and retrieval system for all exams/assessments and ensure the student database is update with students record and assessment results

  • Ensure all exam/assessment communications with students and staff is delivered timely, accurately and in confidence.

  • To assist Senior Assessment Officer with the management of invigilators and actors
