Role: Shipping Coordinator (Home Furnishing Manufacturers)

Location: Bingley

Hours: Monday- Thursday 9am-5pm (45mins lunch) Friday 9am-3.15pm

Salary: up to £25,000 per annum

Start date: ASAP

Do you have excellent communication and organisational skills? Are you confident liaising with Freight Forwarders/Haulage companies and have experience distributing goods Worldwide? If so, we have an excellent opportunity to join a privately owned business who has been established for over 50 years and continue to grow due to the success of the business!

You will be working closely with the warehouse/distribution team, merchandisers and the sales department as well as regular communication with suppliers. This position would suit applicants with experience working within Shipping/ Merchandising or Stock Control.

What will you be doing as a Supplier Coordinator?

  • Working with factories in India, China, Europe, Egypt, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.

  • Providing the very best service to our customers which include supermarkets, DIY, high street budget retailers, garden centre and independents.

  • Managing the critical path process from order placement through to delivery.

  • Raising purchase orders to suppliers in line with production and shipping lead times.

  • Daily contact and communication with factories and suppliers, maintaining positive relationships

  • Liaising with freight forwarder about the import documentation and arranging delivery into customer's warehouse or own warehouse.

  • Analysing sales data for the purpose of re-ordering in line with customer KPI's and stock holding expectations (Strong Excel skills required)

  • Providing sales support to sales team.

Skills and experience required to be successful in this role:

  • Previous experience in Shipping/ Stock Control or Merchandising

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft packages, especially Excel

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and pressurised environment

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Superb eye for detail

  • Confident problem solver who can identify potential issues before they arise

The location would suit applicants who live in Bingley, Shipley, Keighley, Skipton, Bradford, Guiseley, Otley, Menston or Leeds.
