We're really excited to be recruiting for this successful, interesting and expanding International manufacturing business in their search for a Senior Systems Administrator to support their team on site.

Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator


Location: Ashford, Kent


Salary: £40k - £42k


Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, very occasional out of hours calls


Benefits: 22 days annual leave + Bank holidays


As a Senior Systems Administrator your main duties and tasks would be:



  • Providing on-premise and remote 1st and 2nd line IT Support for all users across the multiple business sites

  • Installing configuring, upgrading and maintaining business critical systems and IT assets, such as laptops, network equipment, servers, printers, mobile phones and enterprise applications

  • Reviewing, managing, updating and maintaining the accuracy of IT assets and critical systems information within the business assets and systems registry database

  • Processing requests for new IT equipment, services and software, and maintaining accurate records

  • Maintaining / upgrading the server & network infrastructures

  • Working closely with:


    • Department Managers to agree necessary IT stock levels

    • The IT Manager to support and enhance the organisation


  • Monitoring and managing:


    • System performance

    • Business critical assets and system performance to ensure high-availability, data integrity and business continuity

    • IT and network assets' end point security

    • The administration of all Business critical systems


  • Collating and maintaining:


    • System Documentation

    • Accurate IT and system performance metrics


  • Implementing, monitoring and managing:


    • The business access control and acceptable use policies and procedures

    • The business back-up and business continuity policies and controls


  • Multi-site Active Directory Administration

  • Configuring new software & hardware

  • Upgrading current infrastructure to reflect current policies

  • Administration & Maintenance of Multi-site Telephone System

  • Troubleshooting software and network issues when they arise

  • Router & Firewall Configuration & Maintenance

  • Liaising with 3rd parties when necessary

  • Travelling to other sites as required in Ireland


Ideal skills and experience for the position:



  • A degree (or equivalent) in IT

  • VMWare & Veeam Maintenance & Monitoring

  • Office 365 Administration

  • SAN & NAS Administration

  • Level 2 & 3 switches

  • Network & Cyber Security

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills

  • The ability to travel to other sites as required
