We have a fantastic Term Time Senior Admin position available within a welcoming and friendly school on the outskirts of Exeter!


JOB TITLE: Senior School Administrator


LOCATION: Outskirts of Exeter


HOURS: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Term time only. 40 weeks per year.


SALARY: £20,092 per annum pro rata (approx. £14, 245 per annum)

THE COMPANY AND ROLE: This is a small, friendly school on the Southern outskirts of Exeter, committed to the individual needs of each of its 88 pupils. As the schools senior administrator and receptionist you will be the first point of contact for all visitors to the school and will deal with all enquiries whether it be face to face, over the phone, or via email. You will support with all things admin, typing letters and reports, inputting data and general filing and photocopying. You will also support with some operational finance within the school. This role would suit someone who is a real people person, has excellent communication skills, and who is happy to work independently, managing their own workload.


YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:



  • Working from the school reception desk as a first point of contact for all visitors ensuring they are welcomed and that signing in procedures are followed

  • Receiving and prioritising incoming telephone calls, dealing with them appropriately including accurately recording messages and communicating these to the relevant party

  • Liaising with staff, governors, pupils, parents and outside agencies as and when required.

  • Checking the school emails daily and actioning as appropriate.

  • Typing correspondence, letters, reports and documents

  • General administration

  • Updating pupil data using the school's management system (SIMs) and ensuring all records are maintained and up to date.

  • Producing reports, lists and other information relating to pupil records as required.

  • Deal with sensitive and confidential information regarding staff and pupils.

  • Play a strategic role in supporting the recruitment of admin staff.

  • Utilise school systems including SIMs/iTrent/Arbor, as well as Microsoft Office

  • To support in school-based returns (school census/workforce census)

  • Working closely with the finance team to support with operational finance responsibilities including processing of invoices, processing of payments through School Money system

  • Placing orders for supplies

  • Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children within the school


WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:



  • Previous admin experience is essential

  • Experience in a school or education setting is particularly advantageous

  • Someone who can work independently and think on their feet

  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

  • Polite and professional telephone manner

  • Someone who is dynamic and hard working with a positive nature

  • Someone who is able to establish positive relationships with pupils, parents, governors and staff

  • A good role model

  • Strong computer skills

  • Strong numerical skills GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or


above) or equivalent
