Senior Finance and Payroll Assistant with HR

Location: Canary Wharf

Salary: up to £40k depending on experience

Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm

this role will be 100% office-based Monday - Friday

Senior Accounts Assistant Responsibilities

  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers monthly.

  • Daily bank reconciliations

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts

  • Assist with annual audit

  • Assist with annual budget preparation

  • Profit and Loss reconciliations, analysis and reporting

  • VAT preparation and submission

  • Statutory filing including companies house and HMRC

  • Process multi-currency transactions

  • Processing invoices, chase debts and payment runs

  • Other miscellaneous tasks as reasonably requested by senior management

Payroll/HR responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of monthly commissions

  • Prepare monthly payroll on Sage

  • Managing Company Pension scheme, enrolling new employees

  • Manage HR system

  • Assist CFO/HR with admin tasks relating to HR staff issues.


  • AAT Qualification level 3 or above

  • Previous experience within finance duties

  • An interest in HR

  • Payroll experience

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks

  • Preferable Sage payroll experience

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Good verbal and written communication

  • Able to multitask including the ability to manage a busy mailbox

  • Work well in a team

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisation skills
