If you are an experienced Receptionist/Administrator who holds a valid enhanced DBS then this could be an exciting, rewarding position for you. You will be based front of house within a specialist secondary school working alongside a small friendly team in Vauxhall.


You will be the initial point of contact for incoming phone calls, visitors, parents and pupils with a professional, helpful and friendly approach to build positive ongoing relationships.


Job Title: School Receptionist/Administrator


Pay Rate: £11.50ph


Hours: 8.30am - 15.30pm


Location: Vauxhall


Duration: Immediate start for 6 - 8 weeks

Administrator duties:



  • To ensure the Reception desk is monitored and attended at all times

  • Meet and greet visitors to the school

  • Help produce school documents as and when required, for school leaders and ensure all documents are recorded accurately and stored on the database

  • Ensuring that all complaints are dealt with and immediately passed to a senior member of staff, as appropriate

  • Deal with complex reception/visitor matters

  • Assist with pupil first aid welfare duties, liaising with parents/staff etc.

  • Assist with any other office duties that may be reasonably required by the management team

  • Covering other parts of the school when required

  • Answering phone calls and directly to other departments

  • Monitoring email inbox

  • Use IT and be highly skilled in all software applications used in school

  • Create mail merges, reports and complete official returns

  • Distribute literature to staff, when requested, using most effective method of communication

  • Support leadership teams by producing reports/letters as necessary

  • To ensure the maintenance of clear and effective filing, records and other systems and to keep them updated
