Job Title: School Office Manager (Maternity Cover)

Job Type: Fixed Term Contract (Up to 12 months)

Salary: £22'040 per annum

Location: Halesowen

Hours: 37 hours per week, (Term Time Only)

Office Angels are currently recruiting for an experienced Office Manager to work for an established Secondary Education Provider located within the Halesowen area. We are delighted to partner with this organisation to assist with the recruitment of a pivotal role which is situated at the heart of the school. You will be joining a school who truly value their staff and who are committed to make a strong impact on the outcome for each students learning and development. As the Office Manager you will directly report to the Business Manager and be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the Administration and Resources Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • First point of contact for the Headteacher, ensuring effective and efficient communications within the school

  • Handling issues, on the Headteachers behalf, often dealing with items of a sensitive or confidential nature

  • Providing leadership and management to the Admin & Resources Team

  • Organising school events; Open Evenings, Presentation Evenings and Local Governing Body meetings

  • Planning and prioritising of the administrative teams work

  • Responding to a range of complex, highly confidential, or sensitive issues, concerns or complaints

  • Establish and welcome prospective parents and give guided tours in Head teachers absence

  • Carrying out administrative tasks relating to exclusions

  • Minuting meetings (where required)

  • Providing administrative and clerical support to the Foundation Board of Governors

  • Overseeing school communications, school calendar, reception, resources, postal

Skills / Experience required:

  • Administrative experience of working in a business environment or school setting

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge and use of computer packages

  • Ability to manage and develop a team of staff

  • Ability to understand and relate well to children and adults

  • Ability to organise, lead and motivate staff

  • Ability to motivate, persuade, negotiate and influence others
