School Finance Admin Assistant - DBS Required

This is an exciting opportunity commencing from September 2020! We are recruiting for a Part time School Finance Admin Assistant for a wonderful school based in the London Borough of Sutton. Please see full job details and description below:


Job title: School Finance Admin Assistant


Part time: 3 full days per week


Contract type: Temporary for approximately 8 weeks (potential for this to be extended)


Duties and responsibilities:



  • Placing orders using FMS6, authorising invoices and doing the cheque run.

  • You will be looking after payments from Breakfast Club, Parent pay etc. Recording the information correctly

  • To record staffs' contact details, training and sickness/absence on SIMS

  • You will assist in preparing paperwork, typing minutes of committee meetings from draft minutes and communicating effectively with governors

  • To answer the telephone in a friendly, professional and efficient manner passing on messages as appropriate

  • To be in charge of general filing, photocopying and laminating.

  • To provide administrative support to members of the Senior Leadership Team and other staff

  • Ensure that all duties are carried out in accordance with the school's Health and Safety Policy

  • Participate in the school's performance management scheme ensuring that performance standards/targets are set and met within the agreed timescale.

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times


Skills and experience:



  • Must have proven SIMS and FMS6 experience

  • Be confident using of Excel, Word and Email.

  • Have a good understanding the statutory requirements of legislation, concerning Safeguarding, including Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and Inclusion;

  • DBS Required for the role
