School Administrator - Term time (Temp to perm)

JOB TITLE: School Administrator


LOCATION: Taunton


HOURLY RATE: £9.50 - £10.00 DOE


HOURS: 8:00am - 4:00pm (Monday - Friday, term time only)


We are currently seeking an experienced Administrator with knowledge of health and safety, risk assessments and policies to join a friendly and down to earth team in Taunton. This role is starting immediately and is initially temporary with the view to become permanent for the right candidate. The successful candidate must have prior Administration, Health and Safety and Communications experience along with strong IT skills. You will need to be a hardworking, reliable and motivated candidate, ideally with prior experience within an Education setting.


Duties will include:



  • Develop, maintain and co-ordinate a review programme of maintenance, servicing and annual reports to ensure the school is compliant with regulations.

  • Produce register of required Premises documentation and work with Business Manager to ensure all in place to meet regulations.

  • Support Business Manager and Caretaker re. co-ordination of contractors.

  • Procurement support to include preparation of tender documentation and collation of tender submissions ensuring all requirements met in line with school policy.

  • Management of risk assessments including creating general/whole school risk assessments and supporting subject leads to create subject specific risk assessments.

  • Conducting H&S checks of risk assessments and procedures.

  • Ensuring up to date Health and Safety policy and procedures adhered to including appropriate classroom checks, H&S Audits and H&S Walks.

  • Produce and distribute a termly newsletter collating articles and photographs throughout the term

  • Maintain all aspects of the school website

  • Manage the PA system including programming, downloading and editing music clips

  • Reception support where required


An enhanced DBS will be required for this role prior to commencing employment.
