Job purpose
As a Store Estate Planner, you play a critical role in supporting the delivery of the new store development roadmap which is a key part of the Food Group Transformation Programme. You will be responsible for managing the sales forecasts for our year 1, renewal and closure stores at category and line level ensuring sales and availability are maximised and waste minimised through detailed probing and analysing trends and opportunities.
An integral part of the role requires you to gather and interpret data to influence future allocations in stores which have no previous sales history with the aim to identify clone/base stores or products to mirror your allocations. You will also spend part of your week in our new and renewal stores to identify opportunity once opened.
In addition, you will work alongside your colleagues in the team to manage all peak events for our Year 1 stores and in doing so, develop cross-functional relationships across the Food Group and Retail.
Whilst supporting our new and renewal stores in store, you will play a key role in ensuring store teams adhere to all stock accuracy processes and deliver impeccable food hall standards.

Scope of the role

All Main Chain store launches up to 1-year post launch
All Franchise store launches up to 3 weeks post-launch
All Main Chain and Franchise store closures and temporary closures
All large-scale Renewal and Modernisations
Key accountabilities and measures

* Lead and deliver key tasks identified in the New Store RACI

* Deliver inspirational store launches whilst working closely with the Launch Mangers/ Franchise Brand Managers to ensure they are fully briefed on RACI progress

* Order the appropriate volume of stock to fill the store pre-launch

* Ensure ambient product is secured at depot pre-launch

* Carry out thorough review of the store post launch and probe availability and waste concerns

* Provide on-site support for each Main Chain store opening. Remote working on weekends pre-opening is also required * Liaise with store teams and retail colleagues directly post launch to ensure optimum availability is achieved throughout support whilst managing the trade-off between sales, availability and waste to support the delivery of the store weekly CER sales numbers

* Overseeing the critical path for peak events; Christmas, Mother's Day, Easter etc - we provide increased support for all non-annualised stores for seasonal peaks (setting estimates, base stores, stock management in allocation systems etc)

* Awareness of product status & seasonality, promotions & category activity

* Ensure that the correct reference data has been set up for the store in the Foods systems

* Identify appropriate base stores for forecasting and stock management
* Attend new store 6 Week Operational and 13 Week Space reviews

* Create awareness within the Food Group of future store openings and work with key stakeholders to establish and evolve relationships across Foods, Retail and Franchise

* Coordinate and support any store closures & modernisations

* Key measures: New store sales, availability, waste and internal adherence to the New Store Critical Path
