OA Executive has partnered with one of our long-standing clients based in central London. Providing commercial intelligence on a subscription basis to the pharmaceutical industry, they have been established for more than 20 years and boast a global presence, dynamic team and high-growth.

As the Business Development Director for the Custom Solutions section of their offering, you will work directly with existing clients of the business to discover and develop opportunities addressing strategic issues through the delivery of bespoke projects and ongoing data feeds that supports the client's commercial decision making processes.

With responsibility for business development, client relationship management and development, thought leadership, mentoring and collaborating with the Custom Solutions Delivery, Strategic Account Management, and Client Success teams to ensure high levels of client satisfaction and ongoing repeat business.

  • Operating as a senior member of the Global Sales and Marketing Team, providing leadership to Custom Solutions efforts globally and locally

  • Meeting or exceeds assigned revenue targets by developing insightful, value-added proposals that address complex client issues

  • Generating leads and leading proposal development in collaboration with the Custom Solutions team to ensure actionable, on-target and timely proposals are provided to clients

  • Seeking out and identifying new revenue opportunities at existing and potential clients

  • Selling projects and delivering the Custom Solutions Business Development revenue target

  • Developing and/or elevating new opportunities through the identification of follow-on work and new leads

  • Collaborating with the Custom Solutions Delivery team to ensure client satisfaction and delivering high levels of quality/added value

  • Following-up with client after project deliverables have been completed to ensure client satisfaction

  • Playing a significant role on account planning and strategy with the sales team

  • Contributing to the enhanced awareness of Custom Solutions in the market place through speaking engagements, client meetings, publications, social media

  • Providing direction to our teams to ensure the development of quality client reports and presentations

  • Collaborating with Marketing to lead thought leadership and brand building initiatives

  • Remaining current on industry, client, and competitive trends and directions in order to anticipate and identify new challenges and issues at assigned clients

The successful candidate for this role will possess a proven track record of success of developing new business, ideally where you have worked with and therefore possess a broad understanding of pharmaceutical businesses. You will have exposure of selling customized consulting projects to clients and will be experienced in developing credible relationships with executives in the pharmaceutical industry, will have strong leadership skills as well as excellent and interpersonal skills.

You will have strong capability in managing projects, juggling priorities, working towards deadlines and will have experience in creating and delivering presentations, chairing meetings and business and report writing.
