Account Manager
Chelmsford, Essex
£25,000 - £30,000 per annum
Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm


*MUST be a car driver due to the location of the business*


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a market leading technology organisation as an Account Manager. This hands-on role includes some administration and is vital to the sales/hire process within the business.

Duties include:



  • Achieve territory target and diversified revenue across multiple industries

  • Maintain data within the CRM system, ensure it is up to date with contact details, industry sector etc

  • Conversion of customer enquiries into sales

  • Pro-active outbound sales activity with existing and prospective customers

  • Up-sell/cross-sell to customers, appropriate to their needs

  • Strengthen customer relationships through regular sales contact and engagement

  • Development and delivery of focused business plans to meet targets and business objectives

  • Joint responsibility for first line response to telephone enquiries

  • Ensure opportunities are inputted onto the CRM system with estimated close dates and probability

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of the industry including changing trends, economic indicators impacting on sales and competitors.

  • Manage time to achieve the key performance indicators for the role.

  • Appraise own performance and contribute towards own development of the knowledge & skills required to achieve results

  • Responsible for closing all opportunities with the correct details e.g. Won, Lost

  • Ensure all orders are complete and have relevant sales paperwork attached, CRM is up to date and correct programming information is provided

  • Nurture existing client relationships, building relationships with well-established accounts

  • Represent the company by own appearance and behaviours in line with the delivery of world class standards


Key skills that the successful candidate will require are:



  • Previous sales experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to organise and prioritise own workload

  • Skills required to convert enquiries into sales

  • Minimum 5 GCSE's grade A-C

  • Must have a driving License due to location


This role requires a flexible approach to meet the needs of the business and candidates will also need to be able to adapt to change and use their initiative to get the job done on time, every time. You will be required to work autonomously with little supervision and often under pressure, with early/late starts/finishes when required to meet the needs of the business.
