Job Title: Sales Executive - Trainee Opportunity


Location: Launceston or Liskeard / Hybrid following training & probation


Salary: £20,000-£22,000 basic per year, plus uncapped commission scheme, realistic earnings £25k+


Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm Monday to Friday

The Company: Our client has been established since the 1950's and today they are one of the largest privately-owned regional digital media companies in the UK. This modern media business, who are first in its markets for local news and information, are recruiting for a Trainee Sales Executive to join the team at either Launceston or Liskeard.


The Role: As a Trainee Sales Executive you will be responsible for creating new business by selling marketing solutions, whether that be print or digital. Our client is looking for an enthusiastic and driven candidate who is seeking an opportunity to learn and develop into a successful sales executive. The goal in this role will be to manage your own targets, nurturing and developing current relationships with existing clients and to grow and build a successful client base.


Previous sales experience is desirable but not necessary as full training will be provided.


Your key responsibilities will include:



  • Meeting sales targets through identifying and developing new clients, while also maximising and strengthening relationships with existing advertisers

  • Hitting KPIs to ensure the business continues to grow

  • Learn to provide digital marketing solutions across websites and social media platforms, including:

    • Identifying business needs and connecting with businesses face to face and by phone

    • Assessing individual client needs and providing solutions and opportunities

    • Identifying trends and insights

    • Planning and directing marketing campaigns



  • Monitor the marketplace and competition, staying ahead of all developments and client activity

  • General sales administration tasks using Word and Excel


Your skills and attributes:



  • Excellent communication skills are essential, able to deliver exceptional customer service

  • Previous sales experience is beneficial, or a genuine enthusiasm and motivation to learn and succeed

  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and thrive in a target-driven environment

  • Work as part of a dynamic team adding to company growth

  • You will adopt the company culture - have a 'can-do' attitude, be motivated, reliable, professional, patient, and flexible

  • A driving licence and access to a car essential
