Permanent, Office Based role

£20,000 to £23,000 plus bonus scheme, 25 days annual leave, pension, health insurance and performance related bonus!

Hours: 9am to 5pm

An amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic and ambitious Quotations & Business Development Officer to join a spectacular pharmaceutical laboratory on a permanent basis. The company is independent and prides itself in providing a high quality, reliable analytical service to its clients.

The primary of this role is the fielding and processing of customer enquiries and generation of quotations. As such, you will have close collaboration with the Laboratory Support team and technical experts, as well as communication with existing and prospective customers. The role will also involve working with and supporting the Business Development Manager with marketing and business development initiatives and administration of client Services, Quality and Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Purchasing Assistant

  • Filtering enquiries from new clients or for new work and responding accordingly.

  • Receiving, recording and processing work enquiries and the production of quotations, price confirmations, price lists within the required timeframes.

  • Follow-up of expired quotations.

  • Analysing quotation metrics and producing reports to support Business Development activities.

  • Maintaining client information on CRM system.

  • Identification of business opportunities based on client contact and information.

  • Maintaining relationships with new and existing clients

  • Identifying quotation process improvements and assisting with the planning, testing and implementation.

  • Assisting H&S with the production of Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).

  • Carrying out client surveys, analysing the results and the production of reports.

  • Assisting in the production of news bulletins and other marketing literature.

  • Sample Receipt, Control and Disposal - this involves receiving client samples, checking their integrity, identifying key pieces of information, notifying clients of any discrepancies, booking samples onto our in-house database, maintaining sample stores and disposing/returning client samples after analysis.

To be successful in this role you'll have:

  • Experience and/or understanding of analytical chemistry techniques, particularly as they relate to the pharmaceutical industry.

  • BSc or equivalent scientific experience.

  • Laboratory experience preferred.

  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritising, organising and completing multiple tasks within set deadlines.
