Office Angels are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised individual to join our clients finance team as a Temporary Purchase Ledger Clerk for a duration of 6 months with a potential to go permanent. The successful candidate will be responsible for efficiently managing and maintaining the purchase ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.


Key Responsibilities:




  1. Invoice Processing:



    • Accurately process and code supplier invoices.

    • Match invoices with purchase orders and delivery notes.

    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.




  2. Supplier Communication:



    • Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice-related queries.

    • Maintain positive and professional relationships with vendors.

    • Verify and reconcile supplier statements.




  3. Payment Processing:



    • Assist in the preparation of payment runs.

    • Ensure timely and accurate payments to suppliers.

    • Process employee expenses in accordance with company policies.




  4. Record-keeping and Filing:



    • Maintain organized and up-to-date purchase ledger records.

    • File invoices, statements, and other relevant documentation systematically.

    • Prepare and submit reports as required by the finance team.




  5. Compliance:



    • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

    • Assist in internal and external audit processes.

    • Stay informed about changes in financial regulations impacting purchase ledger functions.




  6. Team Collaboration:



    • Collaborate with other members of the finance team to streamline processes.

    • Provide support during month-end and year-end close processes.

    • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department.




Qualifications and Skills:



  • Previous experience in a purchase ledger or accounts payable role is highly desirable.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.

  • Proficient in the use of SAGE and Microsoft Excel is highly advantageous.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of relevant accounting principles and regulations.


Education:


A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory. Relevant work experience will be considered.
