Purchase Ledger Clerk

Office Angels are working with a large client who are seeking a purchase ledger clerk to join their team for a 10 month maternity cover contract.


This is a full time cover role to support the team for maternity cover. This role is initially a temporary role however could be reviewed.


Job Duties


Reporting into the Head of department, the role will manage all of our Purchase Orders (PO's); working closely with Suppliers to make sure orders are received on-time, in-full and priced correctly. The role will include working in close collaboration with their Finance and Operations teams to manage any changes or amendments.



The role offers a wide exposure to the rest of the business, across numerous functions and for an ambitious Purchase Ledger Clerk to move into a more fast-paced role with strong development opportunities.



Attention to detail, tenacity and drive will all be key attributes in the role, as well as a strong Excel skill-set and the ability to manage large, complex data sets. You will be working with technical, specific products.


A desire to learn and develop will be important as you'll be joining an ambitious, fast-moving team.



Key responsibilities of this role include:-




  • Placing PO's with our suppliers

  • Communicating our PO plan to suppliers and ensuring the plan is agreed.

  • Regularly checking the supplier's inbound and production plan against our PO's.

  • Updating our PO's with the latest supplier information, as soon as it is known.

  • Working closely with Finance to ensure any cost discrepancies are resolved.

  • Supporting the Goods In Team with any queries, and resource planning based on the inbound plan.

  • Support the Customer Service and Workshop team with resolving any stock-driven issues.



Experience and competency in the following is essential;




  • Strong commercial awareness.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Supplier management experience

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Placing orders

  • Managing a busy weekly work flow.



Experience and competency in the following is desirable:




  • Eback-office software

  • Forecasting experience

  • Experience within Automotive is desired
