Overview:


An excellent opportunity to join our client who are looking for enthusiastic, hard-working Premises Officer to work within the Estates and Facilities Team. The Premises Officer is responsible for seeing that the site buildings and grounds are maintained to the highest possible standards and in line with the Estates and Facilities team.



Daily Duties include:



  • Responsibilities on an annual basis, for planning and managing a maintenance schedule in consultation with the Head of Centre, Senior Premises Officer and Head of Estates & Facilities.

  • Submit help desk requests for maintenance requisitions in consultation with the Senior Premises Officer and ordering materials within budget guidelines.

  • Ensure that documentation relating to the premises is kept up to-date at all times.

  • Be aware of the location of all stopcocks, gas and electricity metres. Maintain records of utilities, meter readings, health and safety, and all other scheduled maintenance checks as agreed with the Senior Premises Officer

  • Liaise with contractors and other professionals as directed

  • Implement all aspects of the clients health and safety procedures as documented as well as support the annual Health & Safety Audit and associated actions in a timely manner

  • Carry out a risk assessment of the site and keep appropriate records

  • Liaise with and ensure that staff / contractors work within health and safety legislation ensuring safety of all persons using the school premises



Sound interesting?...you must have:



  • Full, clean valid driving licence (experience of driving minibus up to 17 seats.)

  • Knowledge of basic site maintenance and good practice in building services, i.e. heating, plumbing, carpentry, electrical etc.

  • Knowledge of MS Office systems. Ability to plan and prioritise a range of regular and irregular tasks, and ability to analyse tasks and how they may best be achieved.

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to relate in a friendly way with a wide range of personalities.

  • Experience in building maintenance work.

  • Experience of supervising staff.



Desirable:



  • Valid MIDAS certificate or willingness to train for a MIDAS certificate.

  • Recognised training/qualifications associated with caretaking/DIY activities (e.g. C&G Certificate in Caretaking Maintenance, Electrical Testing Level 1).
