Are you ready to join a dynamic team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional accounting and taxation services? Our client, a small professional firm of Chartered Accountants, is seeking a talented Practice Accountant to join their team on a 9-month maternity contract.

LOCATION: Ilminster, Somerset

HOURS: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday (there is flexibility for part time hours depending on the applicant)

CONTRACT: Maternity contract minimum term 9 months

SALARY: Circa Β£35,000 PA (can be flexible depending on experience)

🎯 Your Role as a Practice Accountant: 🎯

As a Practice Accountant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, leveraging your excellent computer skills and experience in bookkeeping and accounts preparation. You will work closely with both junior and senior team members, as well as effectively communicate with clients. Your prior experience in a general accounting practice, coupled with strong business acumen, will enable you to excel in this role. Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities are a must.

πŸ”Ž Key Responsibilities: πŸ”Ž

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing VAT Returns, guiding and supporting other team members in this area.

  • Preparing Accounts for Sole Trades, Partnerships, and Limited Companies.

  • Preparing corporate and personal Tax Returns.

  • Assisting clients with bookkeeping queries.

πŸ’Ό Requirements: πŸ’Ό

To be considered for this position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Proficiency in computer programmes such as Excel, Xero, and Sage (experience with Digita suite preferred).

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with team members and clients.

  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.

  • A minimum of 5 years practice experience is desirable
