Policy Officer

OA Executive has partnered with a medical organisation in their search for a number of Policy Officers to join their team on a 12 month fixed term contract. Reporting directly to the Policy Manager you will be responsible for supporting the development of creative, pragmatic and evidence-based policy, processes and guidance to support the organisation's policy programme.

Working collaboratively across the business, you will play an integral part in contributing towards the businesses business plans and their corporate strategy.

  • Developing evidence-based policy proposals, strategy, guidance or other protocols. Working closely with workstream leads, operational teams and policy teams to deliver practical and operationally effective policy or strategy proposals.

  • Drafting a wide range of documents for internal and external audiences, often to tight deadlines.

  • Contributing to equality analyses.

  • Supporting the development of research and/or engagement activity required as part of the policy or strategy development process.

  • Developing strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Representing your team and directorate at internal meetings, as required.

  • Representing the organisation at external meetings across the UK.

  • Applying and managing the relevant diversity and equality policy and practice relevant to the role.

  • Applying the relevant management systems, procedures and policies relating to risk management, health and safety, information security and business continuity, as required.

The ideal candidate for this opportunity will have experience of working in complex and challenging environments and will have the ability to apply knowledge critically and strategically. You will be comfortable with identifying and clearly explaining policy, strategy and legislation development that impacts an organisation's functions.

You will be well equipped to analyse and present complex information in a systematic way and will be an excellent communicator who is capable of writing clear reports, board papers and other documentation.

Finally you will be well organised, an excellent problem-solver who is capable of identifying pragmatic solutions and able to work under pressure.
