Payroll/Benefits and HRIS Manager

My Client are an International Business School, very flexible and are happy for their staff to work remotely. You will provide a comprehensive Payroll, Benefits and HRIS Service to Academic and Professional Services staff. The Payroll/Benefits and HRIS Manager's role will be hands on and will have responsibility for managing the delivery of a comprehensive, efficient and effective Payroll, Benefits and HRIS service ensuring also that standard operating procedures, templates and business processes are in place and adhered to.


Main Duties and responsibilities:


Payroll/ Pensions and Benefits management



  • Monthly preparation of payroll, delivering an effective, accurate and timely payroll process using ADP.

  • Administer all benefits, such as pensions, BUPA, death in service, etc. to ensure accurate administration of salary payment of all staff

  • To ensure that correct payments are made, whilst ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements of PAYE and pension schemes and to ensure accurate and timely reporting as required by HM Revenue and Customs, Real Time information and pension scheme returns

  • To answer employees' payroll queries.

  • Keep abreast of the external environment, i.e. pension reforms to ensure our systems and processes are adapted to meet future requirements

  • Developing and managing the HR & Payroll system (ADP) and ensuring the systems are maintained and compliant and that business processes are aligned and optimized.

  • Dealing with HMRC correspondence enquiries.

  • Ensuring the maintenance of employee records, with the support of the HR administration team, in accordance with company policy and GDPR.

  • Responsible for calculating deductions, contractual changes and bonuses.

  • Ensuring that P45s, P11ds and P60s are administered correctly.

  • Responsible for managing and accounting for all pension contributions.





General:



  • To be responsible for the preparation reports for Trustee meetings and committees

  • To ensure complete confidentiality in all aspects of the job.

  • To work closely with the HR administration/advisory team and advise and supervise on payroll/benefits aspects

  • To undertake and take responsibility for own personal development activities and CPD.



Skills and personal attributes



  • Able to manage projects relating to own area of work.

  • Able to anticipate the implications of new regulations/legislation and determine the most appropriate method of implementing changes.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and commitment to providing customer focused service

  • Able to prioritise workloads effectively, balancing conflicting deadlines and achieving results within fixed timescales. And to work effectively under pressure

  • Must be comfortable dealing with reconciliations, audit processes, reporting.

  • The ideal candidate will have a generalist background within HR - with an understanding of employment law, best practice
