Payroll Officer - Immediate Start!

  • JOB TITLE: Payroll Officer

  • LOCATION: Brighton

  • HOURS: 37.5 Hours

  • SHIFT: 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday

  • SALARY: £26k - £28k DOE


We are currently recruiting for a highly organised and enthusiastic Payroll Officer for a client based in Brighton.

Role Responsibility:

  • Process company's payroll into Sage 50

  • Maintains payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data

  • Computes employee take-home pay based on rota's, benefits, and taxes

  • Answers staff questions about wages, deductions, hours, and holiday

  • Receives and coordinates requests for leave and other absences

  • Handles changes in exemptions, job status, and job titles

  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures and complies with relevant law

  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in rotas and payroll records

  • Honours confidentiality of employees' pay records

  • Completes payroll reports for record-keeping purposes or managerial review

  • Uploading payroll journals to Nav Dimensions

  • Ad-hoc finance request

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent Mathematical, Accounting and Bookkeeping Skills

  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise own workload in a busy pressured environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong attention to detail

  • Computer literate, strong demonstrable knowledge of MS Office, in particular Excel

  • Able to demonstrate strong administrative and organisational skills

  • Familiarity with payroll software, tax procedures and benefits/pension deductions
