Payroll Manager

Job Title: Payroll Manager - Countryside location


Location: Near Canterbury


Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm


Salary: £35k-£45k DOE


Benefits: 20 days annual leave+Bank holidays


The company we're recruiting for are based in a pretty Countryside location with modern offices, desks and free parking. They would like to recruit a committed and proactive Payroll Manager to lead their busy Head Office team. This role is fast paced, hands on and will require keen leadership skills to succeed.


Your new Payroll team consists of: 2x Full time Payroll Officers, 2x Part time Payroll Officers and 2x Payroll Assistants so you've got a brilliant size team to manage and process the payroll altogether.


Your key responsibilities within the role would be to:



  • Timely and accurate payment of between 4,000-12,000 temporary workers on weekly basis

  • Troubleshooting and providing advice to all colleagues (within Payroll, and operational)

  • Ensuring correct administration of all payroll related tasks (such as statutory payments, direct debit payments, pensions, family friendly, etc.)

  • Providing training, coaching and mentoring to Payroll team

  • Driving improvement within the Payroll function

  • Working closely with the Finance, Operations, Compliance, Accommodation and Transport teams


Key skills and experience required for this role:



  • Experience in a large weekly Payroll environment

  • Advanced Excel skills, including PIVOT tables, formulas and the ability to build and troubleshoot complex workbooks

  • Knowledge of Pegasus Opera is advantageous

  • Clear leadership and management abilities


Interview process:



  • 1st Interview - Via video conferencing and will include an assessment in Excel

  • 2nd Interview - Face to face, adhering to social distancing and government guidelines for the opportunity to see the office environment and meet the team if you wish
