Job Type: Interim Temporary Contract

Hours of work: 40 hours per week (9:00am until 5:30pm Monday to Friday)

Location: Birmingham

Pay: Up to £13.46 per hour

Start Date: Immediate

Office Angels are currently seeking to appoint an immediately available and experienced Payroll Coordinator to work for a global retailer located in the Birmingham area. Offering your knowledge and expertise, the purpose of this role will be to proactively administer end to end monthly payroll for all office and field based staff members (circa 3,000 employees) across UK & Ireland.

As the Payroll Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Calculation of monthly payrolls and end to end payroll processing for UK and ROI

  • Preparing payroll data and ensuring monthly payroll is processed accurately and on time

  • Ensuring all employee statutory deductions are accurately processed

  • Calculating and processing SSP and SMP entitlements, overtime payments accordingly

  • Processing attachment of earning payments

  • Assisting with third party earnings enquiries

  • Calculating payments for quarterly sales bonus

  • Responding to employee questions in connection with payroll

  • Ensuring payroll queries are resolved in a timely manner

  • Creating payroll reports

  • Assisting in producing all year-end documentation

  • Assisting with auto enrolment process for pensions, producing pension reports

  • Processing tax documentation

  • Liaising with HMRC

  • General administrative tasks

Essential skills / experience criteria:

  • Previous payroll experience

  • Highly numerate and analytical

  • To have an understanding of tax, NI and pension principles

  • To have an understanding of statutory payment procedures

  • Ability to use MS Excel (Essential)

  • Confident with email and telephone enquiries

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent organisational skills
