Payroll Assistant, £20-25k DOE+Benefits, Thornbury

Position: Payroll/Bookkeeping Assistant

Location: Thornbury, Bristol (Remote working available during COVID-19)

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000 per annum + Benefits

Term: Permanent, Full Time

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday - Friday (start/finish times are flexible)

Office Angels are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a small, friendly accounting firm. They have two locations within Bristol and are currently recruiting for their Thornbury site on a permennt basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate to join a welcoming team that has many benefits to offer.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining books and records for client portfolios - using Sage, Excel, Xero and QuickBooks (other packages may be included, and training will be provided)

  • Communicating with clients over the phone and face to face and conducting tasks such as: preparation of VAT returns, preparation of payroll, preparation of basic limited company accounts and tax returns using Iris Accountancy Suite

  • Collecting and processing the various submissions requirements for each payroll, to check and advise on payroll matters in addition to the employees' pay

Ideal candidate should have:

  • 2 years Payroll work experience and/or payroll related qualifications (e.g. CIPP)

  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong level of accuracy in relation to payroll
