Well-established, successful and professional Insurance organisation based near Waterloo is looking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to join their small team.


In this role you will be responsible for the overall running of the insurance arm within the business, controlling budgets and overseeing progress. You will assist in devising and implementing effective recruitment and retention strategies and help to ensure departmental targets are met.


You will work collaboratively with senior management and external stakeholders/partners and ensure legal and compliance requirements are continually met by the business.


Some of the duties involved:



  • Manage all client relationships ensuring the highest standards of service and vital relationships are maintained

  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and inter-group affiliates to resolve member issues

  • Work closely with the group Compliance Manager to ensure the business in compliant with all relevant FCA regulatory policies and procedures and flag any compliance issues for attention

  • Ensure staff comply with all internal policies and procedures

  • Oversee claims and policy procedures ensuring excellent customer experience

  • Act as first point of escalation for complex /disputed claims and policies

  • Identify key performance indicators and set objectives for staff

  • Manage all employee relations matters in line with internal policies and procedure seeking HR guidance as necessary

  • Manage CPD for all staff ensuring an accurate record is maintained

  • Manage staff training so that all staff are fully competent




About you:



  • Experience in running an Operational Team

  • Experience in working within the insurance sector or similar - good understanding of working in a regulated environment

  • Previous experience of managing a team

  • Experience of managing departmental budgets

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent influencing and negotiating skills

  • Experience of managing contracts and service agreements
