JOB TITLE: Office Manager

LOCATION: Newton Abbott

SALARY: £25,000 - £28,000 PA DOE plus bonus

HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.00pm

THE COMPANY: A rapidly expanding Southwest based leading health-care business.

THE ROLE: This is a great opportunity for an experienced Office Manager to come in and run this vibrant, expanding and busy office. The successful candidate can grow the role and truly make it their own. The company is highly successful and looking to expand the headcount in the office by 50% possibly within a year so its safe to say this role offers, stability, progression and a challenge! You do not need specific industry experience. The job remit is wide and no two days will be the same! Some examples of the daily tasks are below but again will/can all be streamlined...


  • Ensuring the offices are a vibrant, happy, and professional environment in which to work and to set the tone for the high standards that must pervade everything done by the company.

  • Organise social events and team bonding activities.

  • HR administration, working under the direction of the HR consultant and Senior Managers as appropriate I.E Manage the induction and orientation of all new workers who will spend time in the offices.

  • Recruiting and selecting candidates for the team.

  • Establish and manage positive relationships with suppliers, landlords and 3rd parties working with our care service; manage contract and price negotiations.

  • Liaise with Health and Safety consultant(s)/providers and ensure that all processes, equipment, signage etc are all maintained within the office environments.

  • Ensure all internal and external documentation and materials, including all digital/electronic items, conform to company branding rules.

  • Ensure the first line of customer support is of the highest standards.

  • Ensure correspondence and communications with clients/service users, partners, health care teams etc are all managed in a timely and professional way; includes creating and maintaining quality standards.

  • First point of contact for GDPR issues and administration in the care service including; SARs, Data Breaches, ensuring data is stored securely, outworking data retention policy routines.

  • Developing and implementing office policies, setting up procedures and standards to guide the smooth running of the offices.

  • Manage various projects from start to finish.

  • Manage the complaints system ensuring all timescales and standards are achieved.

  • Ensure all new enquiries and any client queries are handled in a timely and professional manner.

  • Make sure we all have fun; generally, support the welfare of everyone working in the care service.

  • Supporting the Service Manager in preparation, submission, and presentation of contract reports.

  • Supporting effective communication with workforce, management team, service users and their families and developing and maintaining systems to ensure this is achieved effectively and efficiently.


  • Strong Office Management experience with the desire for a versatile busy role

  • Outstanding customer service skills, able to deal with diverse sector of internal and external customers

  • Highly organised, task focussed and able to monitor and achieve deadlines.

  • Able to function independently and effectively in a fast paced, dynamic and rapidly changing environment.

  • Able to ensure the office is always operated with customer service excellence in mind by managing the experience of guests, enquirers, and clients in a professional and responsive way.

  • Highly competent with technology and information systems.

  • A desire for a career, to grow a role and make their own.
