A well established care home for the elderly are looking to add a front of house receptionist/administrator to their team. The hours of work at 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.


This role will involve interaction with the residents so a caring, patient and professional nature and an understanding of the elderly is essential.

You will have experience of working on a reception and administration. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines, to work unsupervised and to prioritise workloads.


Responsible for a wide variety of tasks including;


1. General Administration



  • To deal with general enquiries about the Home from potential residents and family (written correspondence, telephone calls and e-mail), distributing brochures and information on the Home, arranging appointments to view the Home and on occasions to show people round the Home - giving information about the services available.

  • To answer the Home's door entry system and greet visitors, to ensure that they sign in and out and assist in maintaining the security of the Home.

  • To produce daily menus for the residents

  • To photocopy and print out worksheets when needed

  • To keep all filing up to date


2. Staff Recruitment & Personnel



  • To monitor and maintain accurate personal employee records


3. Residents



  • To maintain all resident's personal records and to ensure confidentiality.

  • To assist in sending out correspondence to residents & their families.

  • To take notes and produce minutes of staff and resident's meetings as organised by the Head of Home.

  • To assist the Head of Home and Activities Coordinator with the organisation of outings for the residents and fund raising events in the Home

  • To update all worksheets for carers, kitchen staff & the Home.


4. Accounts



  • To be responsible for making petty cash payments in the Administrator and Head of Home's absence.


5. PA/ Secretarial Support



  • General correspondence and administration.

  • To assist with and attend any fund raising events out of normal working hours.

  • To assist in producing information and reports

  • To cover additional tasks in the Administrator's absence where necessary under the instruction of the Head of Home.


6. General Skills



  • Computer literate and proficient in Word, Excel spreadsheets, Access databases, e-mail, the internet.

  • Working knowledge of Sage Payroll and Sage Line 50 Accounts would be desirable but not essential.
