Office Angels Durham are currently recruiting for a super organised, strong PA to the Board of Directors ASAP!

Initially an on-going temporary position, but could go permanent for the right candidate!

This role is to join a large organisation, based in Sunderland, so it is ESSENTIAL you have experience of working in a large, fast-paced company!

This role is to start ASAP! So you MUST be available for interview and to start work immediately!

Hours: Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm. Salary - Up to £25K depending on experience.


As PA you will work closely with the Managing Director and Chair of the Board and other Board Directors, providing excellent PA support, including complex diary management, preparation for meetings and conferences and travel arrangements nationally and internationally.

  • The PA is the first point of contact for internal and external communications with the directors and board.

  • The successful applicant will represent the business with a positive attitude and be self-motivated to ensure all aspects of your work are completed efficiently.

  • The successful applicant will have a high degree of initiative - they will be capable of commissioning provisional answers/responses to communications in the absence of Directors in anticipation of their consideration of matters

  • They should provide support about diary dates and give potential options.

  • They should ensure that all paperwork and itineraries are provided in advance for the Board.

Role Duties

  • Meeting and greeting visitors and ensuring that they are well looked after during their visit

  • Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests and prioritising/handling them where appropriate and sourcing appropriate information in advance of presenting these to the Directors

  • Assisting with Directors diaries and making appointments both within the business and interaction with outside organisations

  • Dealing with incoming emails and post to ensure that they are actioned in a timely manner and that there is follow up for each communication received - a holding response and then chasing substantive responses - providing as much information as possible to support a response

  • Arranging travel, insurance, visas and accommodation for Directors and providing itineraries.

  • Ensuring that all Directors attend meetings with the correct information and any presentations that may be required - having commissioned such information and flagged the need for presentations/speeches in advance.

  • Arranging meetings for Directors both internally and externally.

  • Manage the monthly credit card, monthly expenses, invoices and petty cash.

  • Sending expense reports to external stakeholders.

  • Collate reports for Board meetings and Senior Team meetings.

  • Ordering stationary for the department.

  • Updating the company's intranet with news - from time to time.

  • To be flexible to work outside of normal operating hours from time to time.

  • Computer and administration skills including diary management, Word and Excel

  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy

  • Ability to commission work from others sensitively and effectively

  • Effective motivational skills

  • Ability to handle complex and confidential situations

  • Ability to work without direction for significant periods of time
