Duties:


To assess and process completed or escalated applications through to payment or rejection. To manage on-going cases and review as necessary; process applications for additional support; and make grant payments. Provide support and guidance and signpost beneficiaries to any other possible opportunities for support or funding.



  • Check eligibility

  • Assess personal circumstances and suggest other likely sources of help

  • Recommend support

  • Peer review of other's decisions

  • Sit on staff panel as required

  • Assess eligibility against policy criteria

  • Carry out financial assessment

  • Draft narratives and prepare new applications for consideration

  • Liaise with VVs, AST and Provincial representatives to ensure that all necessary information is received

  • Update and maintain accurate records

  • Communicate support swiftly and accurately once decisions are confirmed

  • Provide general advice on possible state benefit eligibility

  • Annually (or as directed) Review existing cases and notify all relevant parties of the result

  • Maintain accurate records

  • Input information relating to payments accurately and process payments using the database

  • Respond swiftly and process applications for requests for additional support

  • Liaise with VVs, ASTs and households as necessary to gather information for grant decisions

  • Agree and pay grants according to delegated authority

  • Escalate requests for support outside of delegated authority and follow up

  • Recommend or agree grants as appropriate

  • Progress / reject applications for additional support

  • Assess finances and recommend the appropriate reactions to changes, including advice on possible state benefit eligibility

  • Escalate complex cases

  • Close cases
