Our client with multiple UK based footwear stores are looking to grow their London based Merchandising team taking on a handful of new heads at a variety of levels of experience. This is an excellent rare opportunity to join a brilliant well established brand.

JOB ROLE: Junior Merchandiser, Assistant Merchandiser and Branch Merchandiser

COMPANY: Well established Footwear Retailer

HOURS: Full time

SALARY: The salaries range from 25k to 45k based on experience

LOCATION: Liverpool Street, London

Assistant Merchandiser:

  • Support Merchandising team trading the department - full control of forecasting sales, updating and managing line cards, placing repeats and planning markdowns

  • Support Merchandising team planning future ranges - full control of forecasting sales and range planning with Buying team in order to maximise sales opportunities

  • Produce and analyse daily and weekly reports to support Merchandising team

  • Full ownership of all allocations and distribution on department

  • Work closely with stores to ensure stock packages maximise sales potential and that stores are not overstocked, focusing particularly on flag ships, German stores, the website and concessions

  • Plan options by grade to ensure stores don't get over optioned

  • Manage weekly intake on department

  • Support, develop and train the allocator to ensure they hit department and individual objectives

  • Present figures, provide information and contribute in meetings

  • Ad hoc analysis

Junior Merchandiser:

  • Ownership of trading the department - forecasting sales, managing linecards and placing repeats

  • Ownership of planning future ranges - forecasting sales and range planning with Buying team in order to maximise sales opportunities

  • Ownership of planning system - managing stock and OTB effectively

  • Producing and analysing weekly reports

  • Producing and analysing information for meetings including sign offs

  • Managing margin on the department, both intake margin and exit margin

  • Planning promotions and markdowns on the department

  • Planning intake on the department to ensure sales are maximised and stock flow is optimal as well as within warehouse weekly targets

  • Analysing past performance and driving SWOT analysis to build future strategies with the Buying team

  • Building relationships with other departments particularly Buying but also web, supply chain etc

  • Management of team and responsibility for teams workload

  • Training and development of team in line with department and individual objectives

  • Presenting figures, providing information and contribute in meetings with senior management

  • Attend supplier meetings and develop relationships with suppliers

  • Plan options by grade to ensure stores don't get over optioned

Branch Merchandiser:

  • Maximise sales potential of stores by analysing sales and identifying store performance trends, risks and opportunities.

  • Provide and analyse commercial information relating to the business.

  • Plan options by store using sales figures, space and company strategy to ensure that stores are not over optioned and that sales are maximised.

  • Grade stores by department and product area to assist the Merchandising teams.

  • Carry out regular store visits and feedback relevant information to the Merchandising and Buying teams.

  • Assist with events planning in the business to ensure sales are maximised.

  • Communicate with other department functions, in particular Buying, Merchandising and Retail.

  • Produce daily and weekly reports for use by stores and various heads of departments and directors.

  • Arranging recalls of stock and stock movements from stores when needed.

  • Coordinate various lists for the Merchandising team such as sale/promo lists.
