JOB TITLE: Mental Health Support Worker



LOCATION: Field based across Kent - Mileage paid



SALARY: £12ph to £13ph



TERM: end March 2024



HOURS: Flexible hours - full or part time!



START: Immediately



We have a fantastic new opportunity to join an established Charity as a Mental Health Support Worker. Their Head Office is based in Canterbury however we have positions available across Kent and this role is predominately field based so please apply and we can discuss locations available for you. They are offering flexible hours for the right candidate and the option to work full or part time - you decide!


This is a temporary contract until the end of March 2024 so you must be available with no more than 1 weeks notice. Ideally you will already have an Enhanced DBS or be happy to have one completed by Office Angels prior to starting.



The day-to-day duties in your new job would be:



  • Working with people in the community supporting them with their mental health

  • Providing support to people whose mental health is affected by social issues such as low income, housing risk and social isolation

  • Supporting people to better manage their mental health and well being, working with them based on their priorities and needs to achieve the goals that are important to them

  • Offering one to one support to people in the community using a strength-based, person-centred approach, as well as evidence-based mental health interventions (supported with training)

  • Work collaboratively with delivery partners to ensure good service transitions and that follow ups actions are completed

  • Co-produce a simple, personalised support plan which is goal focused and realistic

  • Effectively manage a caseload, with good awareness and understanding of when to refer to other professionals/agencies when the person's needs are beyond the scope of the service

  • Identify, assess, and effectively manage risk and safeguarding issues, escalating as appropriate

  • Maintain timely, accurate and up to date records relating to people and assist in the compilation of quarterly progress reports and other reports as required

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
