We are currently seeking a Solicitor or qualified Conveyancer, to join a warm and friendly Leicester firm that's expanding and moving to a great new location in early 2020.

The client is looking for someone who can specialise in Conveyancing and can deal with all Conveyancing matters within the firm from start to finish.

The ideal candidate will be a member of ILEX and CILEX, as well as a practising Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. The client would also consider a member of the Council of Licensed Conveyancers (CLC)

To be successful in the role, you will be confidently able to deal with:

  • Sales and purchases of freehold and leasehold properties.

  • Re-mortgages.

  • Equity release and transfers of equity.

  • Plot sales and new builds.

  • Acting for seller or buyer and mortgages.

  • Drafting and preparing contracts, deeds and transfers.

  • Investigating title and drafting reports.

  • Reporting to clients and attending meetings to sign the documents.

  • Preparing completion statements.

  • Processing applications / registrations with HMLR and SDLT online.

  • Preparing bills for the completed files.

  • Handling a full caseload of residential property matters.

  • Freehold & leasehold acquisitions and disposals.

  • Secured lending, financing and re-financing.

  • Computer literate and able to handle and operate all case management systems including "Leap" (training provided).

  • Advanced knowledge of case management systems (ideally including "Leap")

  • IT literate and a proficient typist.

  • Meet and interview clients to establish the firm's suitability to provide the necessary advice and services, based on the firm's specialism and likely cost

  • Take a client's instructions

  • Advise a client on the law and legal issues relating to their case

  • Draft documents, letters and contracts tailored to the client's individual needs

  • Negotiate with clients and other professionals to secure agreed objectives

  • Research and analyse documents and case law to ensure the accuracy of advice and procedure

  • Coordinate the work of all parties involved

  • Correspond with clients and opposing solicitors
