Our client, a down to earth reputable law firm is seeking a motivated legal assistant to join their team and hit the ground running! This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking utilise their experience and bring their expertise to dynamic and hard working firm!



JOB TITLE: Legal Secretary


LOCATION: Plymouth


SALARY: Up to £26k, dependent on experience


HOURS: Monday to Friday, 7.5 hours per day - flexible start times


8.30/8.45/9.00 am - 5.00/5.15/5.30 pm

THE COMPANY: A local, well established law firm, covering a range of practice areas across the South West including Business Law, Conveyancing, Family Law, Accident Compensation Personal Injury & Wills & Probate. THE ROLE:The Legal Assistant will play an essential role in proving legal support and assistance within the wills and probate department! You will also be working in partnership with internal departments and external solicitors, along with the wider team.



Duties include:




  • Organising and prioritising the days work to ensure prompt start

  • Typing documents from audio or copy typing

  • Liaising with clients and other parties both in person and over the phone

  • Diary management and communicating appointments

  • Taking accurate messages and relaying them appropriately

  • Assisting fee earners in creating and updating precedent letters and documents

  • Providing cover and supporting other departments as required

  • Assis with financial transactions and handling disbursements

  • Familiarising yourself with and adhering to the firms procedures and policies





YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:




  • Previous experience working as a legal secretary

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Able to manage and prioritise work load

  • A good working knowledge of MS Word, excel, outlook and windows software
