IT Support Technician

JOB TITLE: IT Support Technician

LOCATION: Taunton, Somerset

SALARY: £20K - £22K PA DOE

HOURS: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday

THE ROLE: You will be joining an internal IT department providing IT support to staff across several offices and remote workers. You will be joining the team at an exciting time with several projects underway whereby your technical skills will help support the company during a period of digitalisation. Your key responsibilities will be to provide initial support to staff with IT issues and to resolve these where possible. Any issues you are unable to resolve will be escalated to other members of the team who will assist with your growing knowledge.


  • To assist in receiving and logging internal IT support requests via phone, email and in person.

  • Provide technical support with hardware and software systems.

  • Escalation of support requests.

  • Proactively identifying potential problems and suggest resolutions where possible.

  • Ensuring support requests are logged, prioritised, escalated and followed up where required.

  • Helping to resolve IT support requests.

  • Troubleshooting and rebuilding computers.

  • Reviewing active helpdesk calls within the department, keeping staff updated and resolve where possible.

  • Help to maintain comprehensive inventories of assets.


  • Excellent communicator

  • The ability to work methodically and follow instructions.

  • Good understanding of computer systems.

  • Keen to learn new technologies.

  • Prior IT support experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
