IT Supervisor

JOB TITLE: IT Supervisor


LOCATION: Exeter


SALARY: £35,0000 - £40,000 PA Dependant on Experience


BENEFITS: 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, Up to 10% Bonus, 6% Contributory Pension from Company


HOURS: Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 5:30pm

THE ROLE: The key focus of this role is to ensure the digital work environment is fully functioning and to be responsible for the help desk support team of two.



Key duties will include:



  • Ensuring that all tickets and employee requests are resolved timely and effectively

  • Driving a culture of service excellence within the team providing the necessary leadership and support to ensure all problems are resolved swiftly

  • Mentoring and developing junior team members

  • Contributing to the development and implementation of company security policies and procedures and ensure these are aligned with vendor and industry best practices

  • Providing training to employees on Microsoft apps, as required

  • Monitoring, measuring and reporting on core KPI targets

  • Ensuring effective documentation of existing and new systems is kept up to date

  • Monitoring systems for performance and availability

  • Assist the IT OSS/BSS Manager with the development of IT operational strategy and performance

  • Ensure activities and design are compliant with Company Policies, in particular IT Security Policies, GDPR and Safety Policies


We would love to hear from candidates who have:



  • Technical Degree or equivalent

  • 5 years relevant experience

  • People management experience

  • Experience with Microsoft and Open Source software

  • Experience with Office 365, Azure AD and other cloud services

  • System administration experience - Linux and Microsoft

  • Good knowledge of infosec and IT security best practices

  • Good understanding of networking principles

  • Solid organisational ability and an attention to detail

  • Good written and verbal communications skills


The successful candidate will be results-driven, with good time management skills. You will be able to problem solve and provide solutions to colleagues. You must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and operate in an agile, dynamic and flexible workspace.
