2nd Line IT Support Assistant



Our very reputable client who in located in central Wimbledon is recruiting a 2nd Line Support on a 6 FTC.


Located: Central Wimbledon


Salary: £36,320


Hours: 9am to 5pm


6 Months FTC



  1. Department Outline and Responsibilities:



The Department is responsible for the recommendation, evaluation, maintenance and support of all IT hardware and software within HQ and Remote Users as well as Telecommunications equipment.


The Organisation has approximately 250 devices made up of Desktops and Laptops, approximately 15 home users and provides support to potentially any one of the 160+ Branches that can request ICT assistance.



  1. Duties


To provide support in the day to day maintenance of the company network infrastructure, including:-



  • Working in a 2nd line support environment

  • PC Hardware Support

  • Exchange Server Support

  • Active Directory

  • Windows Server Operating Systems

  • Windows Desktop Operating Systems

  • Network Support/Maintenance/Configuration

  • Secure all new ICT equipment and supervise external contractors performing work in the building

  • Occasional off-site attendance, when required, for Branch, Home Workers and Conference ICT requirements

  • Providing one to one support on ICT familiarisation for all staff.

  • Providing Fault Reports with resolutions and recommendations.



Communications Skills



  • Deal effectively with people, both face to face and on the telephone;

  • Ability to efficiently deal with complex enquiries.

  • Ability to fully appreciate the need for confidentiality.


Analysing and Problem Solving Skills



  • Ability to understand, interpret, research and source resolution of ICT queries/problems.

  • Ability to adapt to any given situation to maintain the efficient running of all ICT equipment in the building.


Organising Skills



  • Plan, organise and prioritise own work effectively;

  • High level problem solving, ability to work unsupervised using own initiative


Knowledge


An in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of:



  • PC Hardware

  • Exchange Servers

  • Windows Server Operating Systems

  • Windows Desktop Operating Systems

  • Network Support/Maintenance/Configuration



Experience



  • At least 1 year working in a busy and sometimes demanding ICT Department at 2nd line support level

  • Working in a 2nd line support environment

  • ICT Helpdesk

  • PC Hardware Support

  • Exchange Server Support

  • Active Directory

  • Windows Server Operating Systems

  • Windows Desktop Operating Systems

  • Network Support/Maintenance/Configuration
