As the Financial Controller, you will oversee managing the Charity's finance division. This entails managing the budget for each school site and offering precise management accounts and financial forecasting to support the Executive Team's strategic planning. The Financial Controller will make sure they follow all regulations pertaining to charities, corporations, and taxes, and they will get the accounts ready for an audit. They will also supervise all agreements with outside organisations.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO:
- To supervise the daily activities of the finance department and guarantee an efficient internal control system.
- To keep accounting records up to professional standards and legal obligations.
- To guarantee that all financial policies are suitable and that they are evaluated and updated as needed.
- To create departmental budgets, the charity's annual budget, and cash flow projections.
- To give the Executive Team financial guidance and information and support them in the efficient and seamless administration of the business's activities.
- To produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, monthly financial reports, and other ad hoc financial reports for the Trustees and Executive Team as needed. (To include cash flow statements and forecasts, as well as variances from the budget)
- As required or directed by the CEO or Trustees, to maintain oversight over the company's payroll, including pension administration and end-of-year returns.
- To communicate with and meet with the Internal Audit Committee and external auditors; to prepare annual accounts and serve as the primary point of contact for external audits.
- Manage and oversee the purchase and sales ledger systems, including invoice payment and debt recovery.
- The duties include making sure that there are sufficient financial controls over recording and banking, creating, and reviewing the company risk register.
- Communicating with outside organisations to ensure that the business is adhering to all legal requirements.
- Managing the finance officer and overseeing facilities management operations
- Supervising the timely submission of ONS returns.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- A qualified accountant is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills, the capacity to multitask,
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience using accounting software packages,
- Management of a financial team is beneficial.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Accuracy and high levels of attention to detail
- Able to prioritise tasks, manage workloads, and work under pressure.
- A cooperative team member who can build strong bonds with teammates and collaborate with them.
- Strong administration abilities
- A proactive, upbeat, and enthusiastic approach to work.
