Hours: Office Hours with Hybrid / 2 days Office and 3 days Remote (3 days in office when onboarding)

If so, this Niche HR role is working for a Large Employer in Tunbridge Wells could be the next move for you.

They are looking for a NEW Assistant HR Business Partner/HR Advisor to form part of their professional HR Department of 6, working alongside a Head of HR on a daily basis and managing the day to day busy HR functions for c350 staff.

What does the role involve?

To support the HR Business Partner/Head of HR in providing a commercially focused HR generalist service to designated managers within specified business areas/teams, and to be responsible for the effective management of employee relations casework.


  • To provide professional and consistent generalist HR advice and support to deliver appropriate solutions to defined areas of the business and across the organisation as required.

  • To encourage early interventions and proactive management within the business.

  • To be a key point of contact for managers and employees on employment issues.

  • To lead on the management of Employee Relations casework and to build close and trusting relationships with business managers.

  • To contribute to, and support, as required, any organisational changes and provide advice and guidance on the development of organisational structures.

  • To coach, support, mentor, and challenge managers in application of HR policies and practices, provide advice and guidance on HR issues which ensure local business needs are met.

  • To be an advocate for the business by working closely with the HR Business Partner in mitigating internal and external risks such as employment tribunals, data protection breaches and data loss.

  • To work collaboratively with learning and development, admin, and recruitment colleagues, to develop innovative, timely and cost-effective best practice HR solutions that can be implemented across the department.

  • To contribute and take an active role in projects in the HR team and in the business areas.

  • To update and maintain systems/records to ensure that information/data is kept up to date and accurate and that KPI's are met.

  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are kept up to date and adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.

What skills do you need?

  • Proven experience in competently managing Employee Relations cases from start to finish which can at times involve some detail.

  • Good working knowledge of Employment Law and HR best practice.

  • Ability to take ownership of your work and to work independently, exercising good initiative and judgement.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven time management and prioritisation skills.

  • Proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.

  • Proven attention to detail and ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets.

  • To ensure that all policies and procedures are adhered to so that consistent and standard practice is achieved across the organisation.

  • A commitment to continuing professional development.

  • Proven experience of advising managers on a diverse range of human resources issues.

The role will be working within a large structured HR team, if you are QBE (Qualified by Experience) , or have relevant CIPD either part/full qualified please apply today for consideration.
