We have teamed up with a local health care provider who are looking for a Head of Estates to join their team in South East London.



As Head of Estates you will be responsible for ensuring the organisation provides excellent standards of hospitality and site services. This includes being responsive to the needs and preferences of patients, their families, carers, staff, volunteers and other guests visiting.



You will ensure that the buildings and associated physical environment are fit for purpose. This includes developing and implementing our accommodation strategy, ensuring the buildings are maintained to a high standard, and that on-site Health and Safety procedures and other statutory requirements are in place and adhered to.



The role will predominantly be based at Head Office but will require some travel around Kent.



Duties include:




  • To lead, develop, and oversee high standards for Buildings management and maintenance, Grounds Maintenance, Health, Safety and Environment including moving and handling, Patient Transport / Vehicle Fleet, Cleaners and Laundry Services, Reception and Phone Hub, Site Security and outsourced Catering and hospitality

  • To manage all relevant service leads ensuring appropriate staffing levels are reached, supported, trained and supervised

  • To develop and implement strategic plans, including long term maintenance plans and areas to improve services

  • To oversee the buildings manager and maintenance team

  • To develop and implement any major works on site, working within budget and in appropriate timescales

  • To maintain all health and safety procedures across both sites, ensuring compliance with relevant bodies

  • To work with external companies in carrying out site services and negotiating rates of services

  • Lead the organisation's committed to reduce carbon footprint and work towards becoming more sustainable in its services

  • To liaise with key managers and department staff, working in line with the organisation's key strategies

  • Work with Senior Management to prepare the annual budget for Estates and Sites Services

  • Take the lead on all emergencies across the sites, acting in an efficient timescale and showing responsibility for all areas of the sites

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience leading an estates and site services team, hold a BIFM Level 6 or NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) and have worked for a large organisation who have several sites.
