Role: Governance Assistant


Location: Bradford City Centre (Office Based)


Hours: Full time, 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday


Salary: £19,000 - £22,000 dependant on experience

Our established Bradford based client within the insurance sector is looking to grow their team by recruiting a Governance Assistant on a permanent basis to start as soon as possible. We're looking to speak with candidates who might have previous experience with compliance and governance but don't worry if you don't have the experience as you may still be considered.



To start with, you will be working from home and equipment will be provided however, once it is safe to open offices again, you'll be expected to be office based and able to commute to central Bradford



Duties:



  • Support in identifying any new regulation/legislation and any changes to existing

  • Undertake secretarial duties for working groups for any significant change or new regulation/legislation

  • Undertake compliance monitoring activities

  • Complete monthly ELTO (Employers Liability Tracing Office) submission

  • Supporting in the maintenance of an appropriate risk management framework

  • Secretary of the Operational Risk Committee

  • Reviewing business contracts, in conjunction with the Senior Governance Controller

  • Researching applicable laws and regulations and provide summaries to the Senior



  • Governance Controller



  • Involved in performing initial due diligence on new schemes, gathering required information



  • Assisting Senior Governance Controller in reviewing documentation received, monitoring Schemes and ensuring compliance

  • Supporting with MI and BI reporting

  • Any ad hoc duties as required by the wider corporate services team


Experience required:



  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Attention to detail and able to work to tight deadlines

  • PC literate including Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Personal integrity and ability to ensure confidentiality of information

  • Ability to research and interpret information

  • Self-starter who can work independently when required
